Support For Our Performance Pathway World Class sport and the programmes that develop athletes from promising juniors to World and Olympic Champions are supported by several national agencies. UK Sport drives the development of the nation's high-performance system and provides the majority of funding for British Skeleton's 3 Performance Pathway Programmes.
Several other national agencies including Sportscotland, Sports Council for Wales, and the Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme also provide funding to support the ice training and racing programmes for athletes at different levels of the Performance Pathway.
Essential support services such as physiotherapy, medicine, strength and conditioning are provided by the English, Scottish, and Welsh Institutes of Sport. These services help our athletes to meet the tough demands of a 20 week sliding season and produce some of the world's fastest starts.
The British Olympic Association provides invaluable support to British Skeleton in its final preparations for and at Olympic Winter Games helping to give our athletes the best possible chance of success.
The University of Bath and Team Bath have worked in partnership with Sport England to provide world class facilities for our Performance Pathway athletes to train and prepare in. Our athletes also benefit from the University's range of degree level courses, which provide the flexibility and distance learning opportunities required to combine higher education with world class sport.
British Skeleton is committed to developing its Performance Pathway Programmes in order to provide better support to our athletes as they strive to realise their potential and win medals on the continental, world, and Olympic stages. We place great emphasis on fostering and maintaining good working relationships with all the agencies and institutions that support world class sport in the UK.
