Reasons for taking up the sport (as an athlete): My brother Thomas who was a bobsleigh and skeleton athletes got my involved with the sport after a promising career in football was cut short by a knee injury.

Andreas is one of the most successful bob-skeleton athletes in history. Winning the 1993 World Championship in La Plagne in 1993 was the highlight of his career.

He was appointed Head National Coach to the BBSKA for the 2002 Olympic season and guided Alex Coomber to the Bronze medal in Salt Lake City. After the Games he remained a part time advisor to the BBSKA and in November 2004 was appointed as the BBSKA's first Director of Coaching on a part time advisor basis.

Andreas became the Performance Director for British Skeleton in 2007 after the departure of Simon Timson and is responsible for the performance pathway from Talent Squad to World Cup. Andreas will be the team leader for the British Skeleton team at the Olympic Games in Vancouver 2010.
