Intercontinental Cup bronze for Type

Wednesday 9th December 2009

Chris Type continued Britain’s impressive international skeleton performances this season by winning bronze in the third round of the Intercontinental Cup.

The result, at the Konigssee track in Germany, pushes Type up to 13th in the overall world rankings and follows his gold medal in the Intercontinental Cup race at Winterberg a week earlier.

Type was just over a second behind Germany’s Alexander Gasznar, who took gold in Konigssee.

British team-mate Ant Sawyer finished ninth in Konigssee, with Dave Swift 12th.

Sarah Sydney was the highest placed Brit in the women’s race, finishing 14th. Maggie Davies came 18th.

The World Cup and Intercontinental Cup action resumes on Friday (11th December). Round four of the World Cup is at Winterberg in Germany, with round four of the Intercontinental Cup at Cesana in Italy.
