British Skeleton was formed by a group of athletes in 1989 when it was
known as the British Bob Skeleton Association.
From it’s early beginnings it has grown into the most successful
Winter sport in Great Britain, winning medals at all three Olympic Winter
Games since the sport was re-introduced into the Olympic programme in 2002.
British Skeleton, as it is now known, is the Governing Body for the Sport
in Great Britain and is tasked with managing the sport across all levels
and all abilities.
At the head of the organisation sits a committee who delegate the day to
day management of the Association to the Performance Director and his team
which includes Ice & S&C Coaches, Physio, R&D technicians and
administrative staff.
